MOUNT KENYA PACKAGE-5 ITINERARY
Day 1
Depart from Nairobi at 800 HRS and drive to Mt Kenya through Nanyuki town. Pick up your porters and guide and proceed to Sirimon Park gate. Picnic lunch served at the gate and then a 3-4 hours walk to Old Moses hut 3300m above sea level for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2
Early morning breakfast and then walk to Shipton‟s camp for 6-7 hours to arrive in the early afternoon for a short rest followed by dinner and overnight stay. Picnic lunch served enroute.
Day 3
Early breakfast at the camp and then a 4-5 hours anti-clockwise summit circuit of the peaks via Kami hut to the Hausburg col to Mackinder‟s camp, 4200m above sea level. Lunch served at the camp followed by a rest and then dinner and overnight stay at the Mackinder‟s camp.
Day 4
Awake at 200HRs for an attempt on point Lenana via the Austrian hut. This takes 3-4 hours. Then descend to Mackinder‟s camp for breakfast and further descent to the Met Station on the Naro Moru route for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5
Early breakfast and descend further to the Naro Moru gate where you meet your vehicle for transfer back to Nairobi.
